Brotherhood, a word that is often bandied. It connotes belonging. It rallies men to achieve the impossible. A band of brothers be it by blood or circumstance is the base upon which a man launches himself to even greater heights than could have ever been achieved without his Brothers.
Brotherhood is even more important for the single man. Standing alone, his band of Brothers is the only thing that keeps the flames of chaos at bay for him. The friends who rally to the man stricken by flood waters while his family and government ignore his plight. The rowdies at his favorite pub who greet him every time he crosses the portal. Brotherhood is strength.
Brotherhood has a dark side. It’s the social glue that binds us together. Its primal power draws men into organization and cooperation. Its magnetism can even be stronger than sex drive given a circumstance. Brotherhood is control.
What about false Brotherhood? It’s siren call beckons men onto dangerous shoals. A rentier Brotherhood that seeks to extract versus augment. A man is best to avoid rentier Brotherhood. It benefits him not, yet has the seductive power of the nubile young woman over him.
